eSignal Web Application System Requirements (This is only viewable in Microsoft IE)
This Web Diagnostic Tool is designed to help new and existing
subscribers test their systems for compatibility with MarketCenter
LIVE. As you can see, it runs automatically when you access this
System Requirements page. The results appear in the Pass / Fail
column in the table above. (Green indicates Pass. Red indicates
Fail.) (Note: This tool requires that you have Sun Java® installed
on your system. If you don’t already have Java, you will
be prompted to install it.)
Java Virtual Machine
To work properly, MarketCenter LIVE
requires Sun Java, version 1.4 or later. Microsoft XP does not
have Java installed by default. If
you DO NOT have Java installed, you will see the following message
at the top of your browser:

Clicking on the prompt (“Install ActiveX Control”)
will allow you to install the latest version of Sun Java. When
you receive the prompt shown in the following screen shot, click “Install”.

Next, select the Typical setup and click “Accept”.
This will install the latest version of Sun Java.
Operating System
MarketCenter LIVE requires Microsoft® Windows® 98, 2000, NT or XP.
These operating systems can be found at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/.
Some versions of these operating systems may require Service Packs, which
can be found at: Windows® Update.
Color Quality
At a minimum, the 8-bit color setting is recommended.
Browser
To function properly, MarketCenter LIVE must run on the 5.5 version or higher
of Internet Explorer. You can download Internet Explorer from: http://www.microsoft.com/ie/ or Windows® Update.
Keep in mind that MarketCenter LIVE may run on other browsers (i.e., Netscape,
Firefox) but is designed and supported for use with Internet Explorer (5.5
or higher).
Cookies
Enabling Cookies is recommended (although not required) for MarketCenter
LIVE. In Internet Explorer 6.0+, this setting can be found under Tools, Internet
Options, and, then, under the Privacy tab (Security tab for MSIE 5.5).
Firewall / Anti-Virus
If your computer is protected behind a network firewall and
experiencing difficulty, contact your network administrator
to verify that you are allowed outgoing connections on
port 2812. Additionally, some anti-virus programs may
need to be configured (in some cases un-installed) to
allow access to mc.esignal.com.
Test Pop-Up
MarketCenter LIVE will not launch properly if you have
pop-up blocking software enabled. The "Test Pop-up" feature
allows you to test for pop-up blockers. If a pop-up blocker
is detected, you will see the following message at the top
of your browser:

If
you see this message, you will need to turn off your pop-up
blocker or configure the settings to allow access to mc.esignal.com.
In some cases, you may need to remove or un-install the pop-up
blocker completely for MarketCenter LIVE to work. |
